Managing Offer Letters for New/Returning Hires

Managing offer letters are a crucial part of the hiring cycle. It lays the contractual foundation for a good working relationship because it sets the terms for compensation and boundaries. My role here involved managing email threads, Adobe Sign, and the company's proprietary database to fulfill that function.

Constructing a North America Employee Roster from Regional Databases

My culminating project with Digital Domain 3.0 was leading the biweekly construction of an 800+ artist roster by accurately querying Oracle Human Capital Management and Shotgun Management databases before producing a dashboard on Excel using Pivot Charts. The end result was the streamlining of roster construction from 1 week to 2 days.

ECON 255 Major Presentation: The Forgotten Working Class

Globalization has become a dominant point of discussion in the field of development economics. Arguments have been made regarding its pros and cons. Stories have been told out of the experience of those it has rendered winners and losers. This presentation explored these arguments and stories from one unique perspective--the experience of impoverished working class communities in wealthy nations--as a way of analyzing how it has contributed to each country's respective political climate.

Digital Facilitation for Innovation UBC's Knowledge Exchange Summer Institute

Knowledge Exchange (Kx) comprises the set of practices which bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application or practice. In July 2020, Innovation UBC hosted a week-long virtual conference to support researchers in their Kx activities. I served as a digital facilitator for the 4-day online sessions--managing Zoom breakout rooms, polls, and presentations for a group of 40 researchers.

Organizing "First Fridays" Lunch-and-Learns with the Vice-President's Research & Innovation Office

First Fridays is a monthly lunch-and-learn series that offers the UBC research development community an opportunity to discuss cross-cutting themes in their work. It was my responsibility within the organizing team to approach potential speakers, help them refine their topic for our audience, and craft their promotional material. To aid with mailing and stakeholder relations, I also constructed a participant database using the UBC Administrative Directory.

Constructing a Strategy Brief for the Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Program

The Grants for Catalyzing Research Excellence Clusters (GCRC) competition was jointly created by the UBC Vice-President Research & Innovation and the Provost & Vice-President Academic to support the development of emerging research clusters into Global Research Excellence (GREx) clusters. For this project, I analyzed data across all competition years and presented my findings in a brief which provided recommendations for the GCRC’s future strategic direction.
